“I was skeptical when I first heard about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) that Petopia offers even after listening to the benefits.

There were some websites which mentioned about the harm it can do to those with cataracts. With Reeko aging, he has slight cataracts on both eyes, so I didn’t want to put him on any risk. I decided to consult a vet about the therapy and to arrange a cataract surgery for Reeko. I was informed by the vet that the therapy will be able to slow down the growth of cataracts if done on a regular basis.

It has been almost a year, and his eyesight remains sharp though still slightly cloudy. I have no plans of letting him undergo the surgery as I believe that the therapy can keep him healthy and strong.

He is turning 11 this year, but still managed to bark non-stop for 30minutes throughout the therapy and run a whole hour with me every weekend morning.

Although I can’t pinpoint exactly how the therapy has benefitted him, his new set of strong wiry coat has given me enough confidence to continue the therapy and I’m sure all his inner organs have all benefitted as well.”

Finally a place where I can put my heart at ease, finally a place where people are gonna take care of my babies as if they were their own…

“For starters, my sincere, heartfelt thanks to the crew at Petopia.

No one does a better job than you guys, you guys are a Godsend as I now know that my babies have a found a place safe, clean, full of fun and love should I need to leave them away from home.

Petopia came to my attention whilst reading a copy of Mangosteen Club magazine one day, the article featured Petopia in all its unique glory in terms of standards in grooming, cleanliness, spa facilities from Japan and the founders’ dream of setting up a place where dogs meet, play and stay. Petopia started with a vision of bringing up the standards of dog care in Singapore to a whole new level.

I was impressed and decided to check this place out. A trip down to Petopia allowed me to meet the affable centre manager, Patricia. She very patiently answered all my concerns and questions regarding my babies as they have each very different personalities and for Whisky, this would be the very first time I am boarding her.

She even proceeded to bring me around the centre, at first sight I was impressed that the centre was extremely clean, smelt great with all the therapeutic aroma of lemongrass, a far cry from what I heard from a lot of dog owners about typical boarding places for dogs.

The excellent service of Petopia begins right from the time its centre’s driver, Mr Raj, picked my babies up to be sent for day care.

Raj was not at all guarded and apprehensive when he approached my 18 year-old girl, Brownie and even did not hesitate to give her a pat and helped her up into the van. This initiative impressed me at first sight as Brownie is a mongrel who is normally cautious of strangers. She responded very well to Raj and this put a load off my chest.

When the girls arrived at Petopia, the crew immediately proceeded to check my babies for ticks and this puts me at ease the most, as you know from this standard practice here, they will put the same amount of caution with other dogs admitting for boarding, after all, as fur parents, the last thing we want is a tick infestation in your home!!!! We all know how pesky, disgusting and potentially dangerous these parasites can be.

When they were cleared for the tick check, it was up to the boarding suites for them, it was clean, clean, and clean.

Dogs here are responsibly separated during play time according to size and temperament, so Whisky being friendly but shy with dogs was put together with the bouncy happy little fur kids and Brownie, being cautious in nature was put beside whisky’s area but separated by a gate.

A plus for the anxious, “never be too long away from your dogs” kind of parent, is the availability of a web-cam to see what your babies are doing anytime you miss them too much!!!

My babies are the best judges of how great a place is Petopia.

They were able to understand and love my elderly, charismatic Brownie. She has always been given screams from people as she is a big dog; some grooming places have even turned her down as she has some aggressive traits. I can only say she returned home sleepy, happy and she displayed signs that she really did enjoyed Petopia very much. She was running around the shop when we were about to return home with her tail wagging occasionally, I know this is a clear sign that she was happy as she would normally dart right for the front door when it is time to go home from the vets!

Whisky, my 3 year old toy poodle enjoyed herself as well, though a little shy around dogs, the crew encouraged her to play and gave her hugs whenever she was afraid. I am thankful for the attention given to her as I know that Whisky is a girl which requires a lot of human affirmation.

Finally a place where I can put my heart at ease, finally a place where people are gonna take care of my babies as if they were their own, finally a place where I know the girls will not pick up any parasites and most importantly, finally a place where my girls would be able to enjoy themselves, forget that lonely feeling and have friends to brighten their day.

Thank you Petopia!!”
